I was in the local junk yard the other day and saw an interesting truck. Here's the VIN: F35HRQ64736, built in 11/72, GVWR: 9500, W.B: 140, Color: MA, Model: F356, Body: M4, Trans: G, Axle: 36J, D.S.O: 72. The emblem on the side said a Super Camper Special. I've never seen such a truck in all my junkyardin'. Anyway, it had a funky looking engine in it (i.e. not Ford). I was just wondering if the F356 model was a misprint by Ford or whether there were such models. I took a look at my F150's plate and it states a F140 as the model. Weird! Thanks.
Sounds like one of the altered wheelbase F 350s.If it is,the rear axle is set a little further back from normal so the bed looks diferent from the rest of the Ford trucks.Thye come with all kinds of heavy-duty options.Ive seen them with a 351m/400 or a 460.Those things are pretty hard to find, great for pulling trailers! Are you in the Northeast, cause I'd like to get my hands on one!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-May-02 AT 06:41 PM (EST)]Unreg, what you described sounds normal to me. F356 is just a code to denote which type/GVW.
I'll tell you more what you supplied on here.

It is barely deciperable. I seen a ultra clean SCS go to the wreckers and get picked clean within the first day. A week later I seen another ultra clean SCS for sale for $950 at the same yard. It lasted a day before somebody bought it to turn it into a neglet me till I die work truck for some illegals. I missed buying it by 10 minutes!!! At least it won't be getting crushed yet.
