1996 f150, ign sw problem. It turns and turns. I guess it's a typical bad key switch. My teenage son broke the key off in the switch too. I can start the truck with a screw driver, but how can I take it apart and replace the mech.?

Thanks, but does that also enable the 'black piece' that turns with the key to slide out of the plastic column housing? and when you say 'trim shroud under' do you mean below on the bottom side from under the column. I 'm guessing I do that if that's the case I'm on the flloorboard looking up. Is that correct?

the black piece will come off at the same time.
hole is directly under key. only hole around that area.
