General question on '48 F1
Hey fellas,
My uncle has a '48 for sale and wanted me to ask around as to what it's worth.Didn't post this in the "appopriate"forum becuase it has some other stuff that makes it general
OK,
It was a fairly rust free truck that he had repainted 9 years ago with sinlge stage enamel.Midnight Blue.Still looks nice but isn't color sanded do to single stage metallic.
Has a very nice interior that has all stock peices with some aftermarket. Classic white gauges by AutoMeter in a turned aluminum panel that is stock deminsion.Has orig still in dash.
Has orig flat four engine and drivetrain,6v,also has a 302 that he put alot of money into and is still on stand in climate controlled basement,close to stock,TorkerII intake that he fully polished.
Might have a C4 also.
Grille is mint,chrome also.
Chrome wagon wheels.
Asking price is $4000.00
Is this inline?I think it's a good deal,but he wants more opinions as to what it's worth.He has had the truck for 14 years.

General question on '48 F1
I bought a pasture-fresh 48 F1 two years ago for less than $500 and have been working to rebuild it to nearly stock condition. Total expenditures for parts have reached $5,000 without having to do any serious engine work. I know I can't recover my expenses if I were to sell, so I'm building it for myself with no regrets, but if I wanted to get a bargain I'd buy one already started. Your price sounds fair to me as a starting point.
