Backing Up
I have a 76 F-150 Ranger 4by. When I got it the tranny leaked from the front of the bellhousing and I didn't have reverse. I bought another C-6 and figured on rebuilding the one I am pulling out. Yesterday, my buddy tells me to put it in Hi-Loc and then reverse. After a couple of seconds of revving, the truck backed up. What causes this? He didn't know but he said that alot of trucks will do that when they won't back up in 2wd.

Yeah I filled it up the day I got it. I went to the parts house to get some wiper blades to make it home and couldn't back up when I got done. I revved it for about 2 minutes and it wouldn't back up. It only does back up when the transfer case is in gear.
