I just purchased 20" Vault wheels, and my stock lugnuts won't work with these rims, because of the built in washer on them. Does anyone know the size of the thread? I called Autozone, and they said I had to buy the lugnuts from a custom store, but I know this isn't true, if I can just find the right size with a tapered end, it'll work just fine.
Thanks
When I bought aftermarket wheels I had to buy all new lug nuts as well because the lug seat on the rims was different than stock. Also keep in mind if your new rim+tire combo is different diameter than stock, you may have a problem if you have a flat tire and need to use your spare. One more thing, I had to keep a set of 5 of the original lug nuts in the glove box in case I ever need to use the spare because the new ones won't bolt up correctly to the spare rim. BTW, I bought some really nice McGard lugs and locks from Summit Racing - Part #MCG-84505. It was $70 2 years ago. Anyway the lug size is 14mm x 2.0 RH threads.
A good tire shop has em in stock. You know they're 14mm studs so bring the wheel to the tire store and they'll fit it correctly. It could be a cone lug nut that you need. Gorilla sells em-I believe PepBoys has a good selection-just make some calls.
