Which shocks?????

I have a 97 350 cc/lb 4x4 im putting a shackle reversal on and wonderd what shocks would give the best ride.I narrowed my choises to bilstien 5100 series or rancho 9000 adjustable,Im looking for a smooth ride ,any input thanx in advance.

I have the Rancho 9000's on mine and really like them. The adjustably is nice. If you get the remote adjuster for in cab use it IMHO is a little high. But they are easy to do by hand so I just set them for what I plan on doing.

A fordborn thanx for the reply,On the 9000s is the adustment from hardest to softest noticable if you put them on full soft does it ride way softer than when on full hard,or is it hard to tell?thanx for the info.

Yes there is a real difference between the lowest and highest setting. I have mine on 3 for normal highway driving and seems to be just a little stiffer then stock. When I go off road I will go up to 7. Very stiff then indeed.

Yes i do wheel, but i also drive on the freeway alot here in cali the freeways are bad and it bounces alot.The guy @ ORU recommends the bilstiens,right now im stock suspension w/35'' mts and when im offroad it rides rough even if i air down to 30psi all the way around,I just want the smoothest ride possible i know it will never ride like ifs but i only want to buy the best shock in that price range.
