i did the zoodad... the difference is how fast the underhood temps at the filter go down... i left the snorkel in when i took out the stock air box and put in the 6637... the air flows through the "zoodad" hole, down the snorkel, then gets redirected at the end of the snorkel towards the bottom of the 6637... i put the intake air temp sensor right under that filter so i could get a read on the temp of the air as it changes... what i found is that the temps start to go down as soon as you start to move... and even on hot days while towing, the temps are usually back down to ambient temperature within a mile or so... less if you are running at highway speeds... so far, no problems at all with water getting into the filter... i think the 90 degree redirect of the air flow at the end of the snorkel helps to remove any water from the air that gets to the filter... one other trick i am going to try next weekend when i tow back up into the mountains is removing that strip of insulation that seals the back of the hood... if you remove that, i think that the air will flow right out from under your hood and onto the windshield... if you increase the airflow you should reduce the underhood temps...

what i meant- was the small difference once the air is heated up and compressed. once it passes through the intercooler and reaches the intake manifolds, that 60* difference in temperature at the filter isnt much now.

Opening a whole in the headlight header just between top of the radiator and the driver side headlight. This allows the air to give a RAM effect into the Air filter box assembly. It is made of fiber glass, and a whole saw can make it a Quick job with a drill.

It's cutting an inlet hole behind your grille to let in air. I would show you with some pictures but my search option isn't working right now.

Ah, already done did that one. Easiest and cheapest mod I ever did. Did it help, maybe. If so it was probably neglible, although it did seem to do something. I just chalked it up to be my brain telling me what I wanted to hear. Oh, I sometimes hear birds too.

it does make a difference... especially if you are using the 6637 filter... the underhood temps go up when you come to a stop... with the zoodad they go right back down when you take off...

IMO, even the smallest temp. differences are important because they all add up. And any temperature you lower ends up lowering the egts in the long run.

i have to agree with this... any drop in intake air temp is going to have some effect on egts... how much of a difference and how important this is depends on your opinion... the way i see it... any reduction in operating temps, especially when towing, is helpful to the engine and the tranny... jmo...

Yep! When I changed injectors I thought I was doing a good thind by installing the Air Aid system. This system is just like the AFE stage I. One of my distributors sell Air Aid so I got a good price. For two days I chased a low boost condition. Removed the air filter all together and there it was. Reinstalled the 6637 and it was fine.

I've been considering the Soodad for some time and am just curious !
Thanks
No screen, just a big ol' hole. I never saw the point of a screen when the filter is sitting right there.

A screen is a good idea, unless you want large objects making it to your filter. Afriend of mine had a bird get stuck in there.
