I have a 99 F350 SRW with superchips programmer, 4 inch exhaust, and K&N filter. Within the past couple of months my mileage has gone to crap. I was getting 17mpg on the highway, even with towing. Now I can't get better than 13 on the highway. I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the K&N, but still no better. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause such a drop? I would appreciate any help! Thank you!
I had the same problem.. my 00 F-350 DRW was getting 5-9 highway and 2-4 city (with trailer.) I fooled around trying to fix it myself for over a month. Nothing worked! Took it to Schmit Ford... they found that my waste gate got stuck open because of carbon build up. Paid $400.00 to have it cleaned and rebuilt. Still no improvement. Took her to a diesel shop and am now getting 21 hwy!! Not much I could do! Hopefully yours works out better (and cheaper!!)
Please do! I'd sure like to know what the diesel shop did also. I work 70 miles round trip every day (not reimbursible mileage) and I've done the following to increase economy:
You just can't leave someone hanging with a statement like that. Do tell what they did, please! I just bought an '02 350 CC LB 4x4 and my mileage is pretty poor also. I am not expecting great mileage, but I know I can do better that 13-14 on a non lifted truck with stock size tires. I have the 6637 and fuel filter ready to go, Rotella synthetic, and a Sonnax valve ready to put in (I know that the Sonnax will not help mileage).

Just finished my first tank since all the mods -went from 15.4 to 16.9. 30 gallons at 508 miles. Better than it was....but I was hoping for a little more.
