Hi may be some could help me I have a 73 F150 4x4.I have power asst sterring that just dont work so I bought a ps box from later 70s truck and I found that it is to big and hits the core support.I guess they changed the frame.Has any one been able to do this? Or am I better off with trying to get the old system to work?If so what could be wrong with it?It is hard to steer like having manual steering or worse on the road it's not to bad the control valve get's hot like the pump is working and the valve is new.I have not tryed the cylinder could that be it? Or is it some thing else?

57 ford, I have a 76 4x4 with the same problem.Leave your e-mail on my inbox and I will send you the article on changing a 71 F-100 4x4 to power steering.I beleive that the 76 frame setup is close enough to the 71 frame and will allow the same swap to work in the newer trucks although I have not tried it yet.I had to trim the radiator mount a little on the 71 swap but I was able to retain the mounting bolt on the radiator.Take a look and see what you think.
