Heated mirrors

Does anyone know if you can take the heated mirrors off an 04 and put them on an 01? both trucks are xlt lariet the 01 doesn't have heated mirrors. Also are the 04's mirrors on all the time? Does the connector for the 01 have power for the heater circuts....

Dick ,did you do a search buddy?
I believe the 04's are on all the time
some guys have used the rear defroster sw from an exploder wired in
the 01 has a different plug on the harnes if i rember
search here just last winter someone did this sw
something I;m thinking about also .
I'll look around see if I can find it.

99 -01 have a different plug on them than 02 -current
If you are trying to use 04 for your 01 you need the adapter harness it comes with the newer mirrors from the dealers.????

Ya know I kinda hate the heat on all the time in my 03 -- Think I'll look for a switch so stuff don't cook onto the mirrors in warm weather. thanks for the idea..
