In about a month will be having the DR 4" spring lift installed on the front of my truck. I have the stock F-250 as it came from the factory with the 2" blocks(haven't measured just eyeballed). Putting a 4" lift in the front, do I need the 3" blocks for the rear to make it level or the 4" for a slightly nose down attitude? Or will the 4" make it level?
You already have 2" blocks, so 3" wouldn't even be noticeable. I would go with 4", as I think that 4" lift is gonna put you nose up. Best bet is get the tape out and make sure. Besides, you can get the 4" blocks right at the dealer, along with the u-bolts.
i just installed a 4" lift on my 250,came with 5" blocks, front still looks higher,so i don't think 4" will do you any good,as i'm going to add a leaf to the rear and see how that works out
I was told... not measured myself yet... the '05s have a 1" rake on them. Following that logic if you raise the front 4" then you need to raise the back 3". So if you have 2" blocks already a 4" block is going to leave your nose up an inch. Sounds like you need 4" blocks and add-a-leaf (rough-er ride) or 5" blocks. But like BFR said, pull out the tape to be sure.
Also, I got my 4" blocks and u-bolts from Ford. The parts dept just ordered the u-bolts from a local 4x4 shop and gave me a set of pro-comp bolts. Then the u-bolts are too long even for the 4" blocks and I screwed up and only needed 2" blocks... makes the pro-comp u-bolts WAY too long. I went straight to the 4x4 shop and they said they are going to 'take care of you' since I have the original box with their name on it.
O.K. fellas, here's the tale of the tape. 38.1" front and 40" rear. From the lip of the fender straight thru the hub to the pavement. Is this typical? As from the factory or has there been some sag? Is the 1" rake for the 05 true of all PSDs of the superduty style? If so then Antacus's math/logic should be true. Thnx to all for your responses.
