I have a 97 explorer and the key fob quit working and the buttons on the door. I have done the key switch eight times and the doors donot unlock/lock. I am thinking I lost power but all the fuses are good, I check the ones under the hood and in the cab. I thought it may have an inline fuse under the dash but could not locate anything. Where does ford put the brain box for this? I have looked all over. My wife is all over me till i fix this and I am not taking it to Ford inless i have to. Please help. Thanks

The contol module for this is in the rear driver's side panel. You can see if if you look in from the door you use to access the jack (I think).
thanks found the box. The part number is (F7CF-15K602-AA) and it says remote keyless / anti-theft on it. I do have power going to it. I hope I just need to replace this box. I puled it apart and no traces are burnt and nothing looks bad but it must be this. Does this also control the buttons on the out side of drivers door. They are not getting power ( the light is not comming on when you push a button) do the relays by the jack have anything to do with this part of the system? Thanks for all your help
If the locks work normally from the switch in the rear, the most likely problem is a break in the wiring where it flexes when you open and close the drivers door.
Pull the drivers side kick panel & check for voltage from the relays on pink/light green which is wired to drivers switch lock & pink/yellow which is wired to drivers switch unlock.
If you determine the box to be bad search this site for info on the box and / or ground to the seats. I think I remember a thread about the power seat track loosing a ground connection and static damaging the the auto door lock control module, Ford has ground straps to install on the seat track to avoid this problem.
