Fog Lights
These Are Headlight Bulbs And Are 60-65 Watts
Stock Bulbs Are Only 40 Watts.
They Are Much Brighter But I Am Worried About The Fog Light Housing Or The Lenses Getting Too Hot. Can The Wires Handle Them.
For my '03 Excursion, the Sylvania website (sylvania.com) said for me to use the following:
9007ST - high/low beam (headlights)
9145ST - Fog lights
I also read that the 9005's work, but I am just not willing to take the chance of melting something or blowing a fuse??? Probably won't, but I am not willing to try.
After 1 full day (and night) of using the SIlverstars, they are great and the extra white/bright light is perfect for what I am after. I left the fogs with the stock amperage, but the Silverstars that are called for offer more light and meet the wattage requirements for safe operation.
Some have reported that they get flashed sometimes due to the higher wattage fogs and using them all the time... I don't want or need that hassel as well.
I purchased from Advanced Autoparts and their website will tell you which ones you need as well. If you have a store locally great, or you can use their website. They are on sales right now for $19.95/ea and their is a rebate on the sylvania website and Advanced Auto Parts... so of course I submitted for both of them since both sites offred it!!!
Good luck on what ever you decide.
