Well, now what. I was trying to set the timing on my old '79 the other day and was giving it some gas when the throttle linkage at the carb(it's a Motorcraft,probably the original) decided that it would rather be somewhere else. I tried to look in my manuals to get a good picture and hook it back up, but no close-ups. can somebody please post a pic of their carb and linkage so i can use it as a ref. thanks.

Are you talking about the rod that comes from the accel pedal? That snaps onto a ball on the linkage. There should be no clip of any kind on there. If you still need more help, I can produce a carb pic for ya. (get back to me soon enough, it is still light out here at 9:30 pm!)
