Another FE in the world!
The 447 project is done! After a year of gathering parts and assembly we have a new addition to the FE family. A local kid (to me) I'm guessing he's about 23, came to me almost two years ago to see if I could give him suggestions on building up a 390. He wanted something strong for the weekends, but not so extreme that he wouldn't be able to tow his Jet Skis if he needed to. I just happened to have the old 390 block from my project truck, and a few other components, so we worked out a price and we were ready to get started.
Here's the list:
D3TE block bored .040 over
4.25 Scat crank
6.7" BBC Scat H-beam rods
Custom Diamond 9.91:1 forged pistons
Comp 282S solid flat tapped cam, 236/236@.050 571/571 110/106
Edelbrock Aluminum heads
Erson roller rockers
Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold port-matched to heads
Holley Truck Avenger 770 Carb
Hedman 3/4" port-matched Headers
MSD 6AL box
MSD Dizzy and wires.
I can't wait to get this thing installed and hear it purr.
If we get some sunshine tomorrow I'll wheel it out and get a pic to post. It turned out to be a very pretty engine.
