4r70w or eaod?

4r70w or eaod?

Is there an external way of identifying whether your transmission is the 4r70w or EAOD? Most of the gasket kits and other parts look quite the same and are even under the same ordering category. I figure it might be the dip in the pan on the 70w and a flat pan on the EAOD. Anyone have any wisdom?

look on the driver side of the tailshaft if there a w on the side it is a 4r70w.the differance is the wide ratio gear set.

Sure enough. She has a W on there. That would also explain the TCC chatter that shows up when you get a few miles on the fluid. Thanks for the assistance.
