I have a 95 5.0l xlt. My question is, where is the map sensor located, and what are some of the signs that it's not functioning properly.I've had some start up issues, and she seems to run differently w/relation to the weather.I've replaced almost every ign. part over the last couple of years, and I know it's not cap, wires or rotor. I just did them.A friend of mine suggested the map sensor, he's a mech, but doesn't live close.
Unless it was moved between 93 and 96 its mounted to the firewall on a bracket atop the air conditioning bulkhead. Has a 3-wire connector and a vacuum line that runs to the large vacuum tree between the fourth and fifth runners in the upper intake plenum.
Ok,I went to my local mechanic. My truck doesn't have a map sensor. He says it probably has a bap sensor. If so ,where is it located in a Bronco? And would this sensor have anything to do with having a real low dle after initial high idle start. After the high idle,it gets real low for 20-30 min.? Also the truck runs very different depending on the weather? Sorry it sounds strange, but it's like having to diff. vehicles. I also just replaced and checked the ECT.
