Newbie in KCMO
Hi,site is great. I bought a '72 High boy, 4x4, 3/4 t, 390 off ebay in '02. Flew to Oregon in Feb, '02 to drive it home. Got snowed in in Salt Lake for two days. Made it to Chyenne Wy. where I found a bad rear wheel bearing and tore up hub. After two weeks and over $1200 I started home again. Made it to Russell Ks. where the engine blew. I almost left it on the side of the road with all the paperwork and open title for whoever wanted it. Luckily a friend towed it home for me. I'm not a real mechanic. I've swapped one engine, pulled one transmission, changed one crankshaft, all over 20 yrs ago. Mainly I've changed fuel pumps, water pumps, the simpler things all on GM products. I finally got over the fiasco and decided I could do this and got started last week. So I will be asking questions. Please, no comments about buying off E-bay. I have heard them all. Thanks, Mike
