I would start out about 90-110 amp range. 20 chf on the argon. Leave plenty of stick out on the wire before you start the weld (approx 1 inch,) unlike steel or stainless wire, aluminum melts quick, without the stickout, you will ruin a lot of contact tips. Wire speed should be slightly more than you use for steel.

I wouldn't reccomend it for aluminum under 1/8" thick.

Thanks for the FYI, Engloid. I was thinking in general terms. I don't have experience welding AL with anything other than AC, but I have heard folks speak of it for heavier sections. I stand corrected.
