53 Rear Posi Unit?
Hey Guys,
I need more help on my project(s).
I started with building my 55 and now got a 53 in the woprks also!
It is easier to build two at the same time I think??
I need help on the type or rear that is in the 53 to 55 F100's!
I think that they are Dana 44, is that correct?
Where can I get a posi, different gears and parts for them?

It is a Dana 44. It has 19 spline axles, while most Dana 44s have 30 spline axles (The 19 spline axles were used on Jeeps to about 1970). Gear sets range from $129.99-238.99 (2.72-5.89 gears). I know they make an Air locker, Detroit locker, and a Power-Trax unit. This is if the Jeep stuff will work (Don't know why it wouldn't). I found this information at 4 Wheel Parts. I would also like to find a cheap locker or posi for a 1955 Dana 44. Good luck.
