Question IAT Sensor

I am trying to locate the IAT (intake air temp) sensor on my truck, can't seem to find it, Everyone I ask and every manual I look in says its supposed to be threaded into the lower intake manifold right near the fuel rail schrader valve, can't find it. I do see a sensor screwed into the side of the air box though, cant figure out what it is, possible iat? 94 XLT MASS AIR, anyone know where it is??Thanks
Brian

For a speed density truck your manuals are correct.

Thanks I am just trying to sort out some problems right now, I am having rough idle (at low idle 600rpm engine misses, runs rough, sounds kinda like a hot rod with a racing cam in it, you know those ones that barely run at idle) next hint, manifold vacuum at idle measured at manifold (after compressor) at idle is 12" vacuum, crusing down the highway it makes about 18-19" of vacuum, is pre charged/post charged vacuum levels different at idle??? Other problem is some detonation (when I really get on throttle), despite 2deg of retard per psi. on forced induction (kb) 302 5.0 EFI mass air engine, kb seemed to feel it is becuase I did not relocate my IAT sensor from the lower manifold to the throttle body (pre vs post charged air temp).
Thanks
Brian
