Starter Engages but No Start?

I'm been trying to get my 85 F-150 4x4 with a 300ci run good again. Its been sitting for a few years now. She didn't turn over at first, so I bought a new soleniod and away she went. Gas wasn't coming to the carb so I replaced the fuel pump and cleaned out all the lines. Then the soleniod started making that "clunk" sound so I bought another one. Still nothing. So I bought a new starter. I can now hear the starter enage but the motor wont turn over. I know the motor itself is not locked because it was running just a couple days ago. Can anyone tell me any possibilities as to why the starter engages but the motor wont crank?
Thanks,
Rick

Battery cables would be my first guess. They get corroded internally and don't allow enough current to flow to the starter. This is especially true with the 300, those suckers are long. Also have your battery itself tested.

If you want to be sure it's not locked, put a breaker bar on the pulley nut and crank it over.
