Well I thought I would shoot this by you guy's and see what you think, I have a friend who is offering me two 460's with C-6's on both, both in running condition (one is supposed to have a cam and four bbl intake the other is out of a '79 van two bbl motor) any how I can pick them up for around $400 for both.
I have nothing to put them in right now but I have owned one 460 powered truck and it was a beast, I was thinking of putting one in a Fox car mustang, thunderbird etc, and the other one into my brothers F150.
I alreday have an FE big block sickness now I am going to get 385 big block sickness too
the 79 from a van better be a 4 bbl motor or it's not a 460 because all 460s had4bbl carbs up until they went to fuel injections. I would make sure it's not a 351m/400 cause if it has a 2bbl thats probably what it actually is.

OK I will look at them I have not seen them yet I was just told this info.
monsterbaby, this is prolly a really dumb question, but because I am trying to learn everything I can about this stuff i'll ask anyway...how do you tell the difference between a 4bbl and 2bbl carb while were on the subject - thanx - chris...nice trucks in the gallery by the way.
2bbl, and 4bbl refers to the number of holes that the air goes through into the engine (for lack of a better way to describe it) just take teh air cleaner off, and look to see. after a while you can tell without looking at the top of the carb
