Appraisal Question
I am trying to get this cheap "silver wheels" insurance for my old truck (79 F100 2WD, you can see it in my gallery if you are interested). This insurance is much cheaper that normal insurance, and can only be used on "pleasure vehicles".
The catch is I need to get an "appraisal" before I can get this insurance.
How does the appraiser set the value? Should I show him all the receipts for all of the work I have done? Do I have any say in the appraised value he assigns? Should I tell him I did the work myself, or will that lower the value?
Never done this before so I am not really sure what to expect.
Thanks for any advice,

I just posted a related question, but I didn't see where the truck had to be appraised. I was looking at the 'agreed value' policy.
http://www.americancollectorsins.com
It comes up anywhere from $137 to $500 depending on a value of 5K to 20K and deductables from 0 to 1000.
do you have a web site for this 'silver wheels' place? I'd like to compare.
I just had my car done and the appraiser used 50% of my total reciepts and the value of the car (based on several they found for sale in similar condition etc.) and combined them to come out with a value. It's still about half of what I've got into it but its not highly colectible like mustangs or 50s vehicles (yet).
