Mitsu. 5 spd Tranny Fluid question/discrepancy
RE: 1989 Ranger SC 4x4 with Mitsubishi 5spd manual tranny.
What Kind do I use? I'm confused. I'd prefer a synthetic, but I won't get too picky in a pinch. Here's what the books say...
Amsoil
Synthetic European Engine Oil 5W-40
Chilton
Standard Tranmission Lube SAE80
Haynes
D
Z-19C547-A (ESP-M2CE3-C) or equivalent (whatever all that means)
Ford Transmission Fluid Chart
Take a look at this link. I believe my transmission might fit under the category of "other" in which case it says in NOTE #3 that ford's full synthetic manual transmission fluid replaced SAE 80W.
