Varying performance issues on 05 5.4

Varying performance issues on 05 5.4
It seems that it is not as responsive at times as it is at other times. It has the 5.4 and auto tranny. I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen and if so what fixed it or what can or should I do to cure this little mishap. Thanks

I notice that gas quality can make the truck run quite a bit different. I think that's the PCM correcting on the fly. Bad or old gas and the power varies, as does the idle. Next tank no problems.

I've noticed much better performance now that the cooler weather is here. My other cars did this as well, but it has been the most noticeable in this vehicle. I can't wait to get a cold air intake on this thing now.
All in all, mine has never felt sluggish. Its a late build 05 with 4100 miles.
