wipers!

My wipers on my 90 302 only work on high. When they stroke, the volt meter drops about 3 volts. The washer used worked until recently. The wipers have the intermittant option, which also doesn't work.

I replaced the switch and wiper motor. I also changed out the washer pump with a junkyard one (condition unknown)when I changed out my leaking resovior. No change. The only thing I can think of is a relay, but aren't those all or nothing?

What is left????? what can I do?

The delay module is the one thing that is left. And the low speed does go through the module.

It's a little box mounted under the dash behind the wiper switch area. Follow the harness from the switch down, and you should run into it.

According to this diagram

http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/g...3d800a3a5d.gif

the washer does not run through the interval box.

I've now replaced the switch, the motor, and the wiper module (governor) and no change. A guy at work has the same year truck. Said the same thing happened to him, he replaced the same stuff as me, and still the same.

I guess i'll lokok at the wiring diagrams for grounds....

You could also use a testlight or voltmeter and the diagram above to do some voltage checks.

Ok, I have researched the forums and found it to be replete with this problem, most to the same path and conclusion I have.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION.

I probed the black/white wire on the washer pump and the black ground for voltage and had someone activate the pump. Less than 1/2 volt. I then left the black/white on and grounded it to the body. I had someone activate the pump and got 12 volts. I changed out the pump and it works great.

Now for the intermittent/low wiper situation. I bought a new switch and a new module and no change. I started probing for voltages when I just decided to go to the store and buy the $25 regular (non-intermittent) switch. I hooked it up, bypassing the module. The wipers worked on both speeds with no big pull on the volt meter like it used to. The washer still worked of course. The problem still was the module, even though it was new.

Advice is, if this problem happens to you, save your $90 for the module and $45 switch and go for the $25 regular switch and forget having intermittent. Even if you do fix it the old fashion way, threads show it has a way of always coming back to haunt you.
