I need info

Ok I have a friend who had a Ranger(older one) it had a 2.8 in it, he will not believe that Ford put a 2.8 V6 in Rangers from the factory, he thinks it's a chevy(might have been he said it was a hack job), but he thinks the 2.9 is the only 2.something V6 that Ford used in Rangers. Can someone give me some info I can print out and prove to him?

1983-1985 Rangers included the Carbbed 2.8L V6.
1986-1992 Rangers included the EFI Multiport 2.9L V6.

We've got a ton of Chevy lovers here that think they know everything, the best thing to do is to just ignore them. Chevy wasn't the only company that made a 2.8L, only difference is the Chevy 2.8 was a slow TURD.

Well he is actually a Ford guy, and his truck had tractor gears so even if it was a Chevy it was quick.

It's more than likely a Ford engine. Have you owned or driven in a 2.8L Chevy S10? Believe me, I don't hate Chevy, I am just making the point that the Chevy 2.8L was well known for being a slow TURD. They can take a beating though. I had a friend that always has his stereo up too loud to hear the engine. He would just floor the crap out of it until it wouldn't go anymore, then shift (standard). I think he did eventually blow the engine up though.
