Question stuck open injector

In searching for my high idle, I tried the pedal to the floor start in my 90 302 4x4 stick to see if one of the injectors is stuck open. It immediatley came to life with a roar. I repeated a few times. I guess since that means it has an injector stuck open. If so, how do I un-stick it?

You don't, you replace it. However, your method of diagnosing a stuck injector is kind of suspect. The only real way to tell is to do a fuel pressure leak down test. It could also be a bad FPR.

Pull the vacum line off of your FPR and see if there is any fuel present in your line or squirting out of the diaphragm. If so then ANDYM has hit the FPR problem right on. You pretty much need a fuel pressure tester hooked up to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail to check the leak down rate - any chance that you can buy or borrow one?

Cheers!

Mike
