I have a 1982 econoline van with a 300cid 4.9L. The motor is remanufactured without any miles on it. Does anyone know if that motor. once I put about 3000 break-in miles on it, could tow a 24 ft enclosed aluminum trailer with a 1972 ??????????????? (I'd tell you what it is, but I'm afraid it's kind isn't welcome here) in it? Thanks.

Don't worry, you wont get flamed too bad for straying from the path. We all make mistakes. LOL. Do you know what the weight of the trailer and vehicle are together. I am sure you could pull it, but how fast and safely is another thing.
I'm not sure the trailer weight. It's aluminum enclosed, but the car is 2800 lbs I'm pretty sure. I have owned only fords my entire life, except for three, a 1970 and a 1972 of the same make and model, and a jeep. Other than that, in order: 1966 Ford Falcon, 1984 ford thunderbird, 1990 ford escort, 1963 ford falcon, 1950 ford f-1, 1994 Ford bronco and the 1982 econline. SO i think my ratio is pretty good. anyways, any other info on the towing capacity of my van would be sweet. Thanks.
