Got my Fumoto Valve in the mail the other day, now I cant wait to do my next oil change to install it. Although having the '04 F250 4x4 lifted 8" helps, all I do is slide a 5gl. bucket under oil drain plug, and let her flow till she is done. Now with the new valve I won't have to drag anytools under with me!
Just my two cents, if you are buying your filters from Wal-mart, they also sell the filter from Fram as well as Motorcraft. Open the boxes, the filters are exactly the same. However the Motorcraft on costs more.
Another thumbs up on the Fumoto valve. I had an issue with oil leaking at my drain plug. Ford dealer gave me about 8 of those carbon fiber? washers and suggested that I replace the washer at every oil change. Instead, I got the fumoto valve. No I have no leak and no worries about dropping the plug or getting burnt by hot oil!
I like it so much I am gonna get one for my Expedition as well.
Another tip. A 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot fits perfectly under my 4x4. Although it does have the 2" leveling kit and 35" tires. I can then put a lid on the bucket and drive it to Autozone or other place that accepts oil and dump it
I also fill only 13.5 quarts.
Concerning the fill hole, I have a yellow funnel that happens to be just the right size that I can thread it into the fill neck and pour in the oil. I also learned another tip from RV today. You can take one of the plastic quart bottles for margarita mix, tequila, etc., cut off the bottom and it will thread right into the filler neck.

they are by no means filter so do not confuse the atomic orange piece of junk with the Purolator filter. yeah the mc costs more but you get more. the nominal micron rating is 17 on the mc and 24 on the fram.
Gashog, you had better go to china-mart and look for yourself. They are both the same racor quality, same numbers, same o-rings and instruction sheet. These are cartridge filters, not spin-on's.

The hog is right....stick with the Motorcraft or anything else but a Fram. Just take a hacksaw to one and look inside. It will make you a believer. I've seen the 6.0 oil filter at Wally World for about $13. Cheap.
You guys just don't get it do you. Fram is not making the filter, racor is. Fram is repackaging it, for now. So what part of $4.00 saved do you not understand, these filters for the time being are identicle, when and if fram does start producing, or should I say champion labs starts producing them for fram, then I will buy motorcraft. You don't have to cut it open, as it is a cartridge filter, NOT a spin on.
On edit, no, don't buy any of the $4.00 cheaper frams, that way their will be more left for me to buy.
