Hey. I think I got the dissy wired correctly thanks to a drawing from mil1ion. Now, if I've done everything right it should just turn over, right? My bud says if the timing is off even a little, the motor will have a really hard time cranking. After following everybody's tips and some sets of really good instructions, I think I actually have it set up right. My batteries (I have two) are both cold crank 850, 1000 running. How can an idiot like myself check one? I know they are maintenance free type. The motor just seems slow to crank over, I can smell gas very faintly, I assume the eccentric is doing its thing, she has a new coil and wires and plugs. Am I over reaccting or have I once again missed something? I'm thinking batteries are low, she has been "napping" almost a month now. If I goofed the 3 wires going to the dissy, what would be the most likely thing to happen? Even with mil1ion's diagram, it was a pain in the A**, the previous owner had spliced and diced many times. This post is getting too long, if anybody thinks of anything possibly missed before, I'm game. Might just have to leave her alone tomorrow, I'm getting frustrated. Thanks, Blair
P.S. - Saw this really sweet 77'supercab trailer special tonight, 4-sale, I'm in love again, guess thats one bright spot for today, I'm calling about her tomorrow. ;-)
