Front driveshaft repair?
I have a '78 F-150 full-time 4x4 with a C6 and soon to be 460 engine. The front driveshaft started chattering terribly so I took it off and the U-joints are good but there is a big "knuckle" (for the lack of a better word) where the two shafts (transfer case shaft and front third member shaft) connect. I think its called a Cardan joint but I'm not certain. Anyway, this is where the noise comes from and I was wondering how I could fix it?:-X11

Yep.There are needle bearings in there too.They can be rebuilt,but I'd bring it to a reputable shop because it isnt something youd want to do in your garage.Those double cardan joints seem to be a nightmare.If you want a cheaper way out,I have a good front driveshaft from a 78 bronco w/c6 and full-time 4wd.The front one should be the same size as yours.( I know the back is shorter)If your interested email me with length of your driveshaft closed and I'll compare it to mine.$50+shipping from CT.
