front end lifted

just a question for all out there but do you get better gas milage with the front end lifted level with the back or lower the way it comes from the factory?

Typically the higher the truck sits the worse the milleage. I beleive its because more air gets sucked under the truck causing more turbulence between the truck and the road. A lowered truck with 'ground efects' or whatever there called (the valence pieces that bring the trim lower to the ground) should have a lot less drag and get better mpg. Can anyone else attest to this?

interesting I was thinking why the front end was lower and it seems if you put a load on the backit will bring it level instead of having the front end sticking up.

True but then again with a load on the back end of it, thats gonna make your truck work harder , thus in return require more fuel to run it.Rasing the front end up will cuase drag in return cuase the truck to use up more fuel, agreeing with bronco . Lance: Do you haul alot of stuff in the bed of your truck?

Kinda odd, but the best milleage I had gotten up until last year was when I was pretty heavy loaded with rocks in the back end. Suspension was about 2" from the stop blocks if I remember. I drove the speed limit on my 2.5 trip home and got my record milleage at the time. Maybe the combination of driving it easy and the lower profile outwayed the extra weight enough to get me better milleage? I dunno, sometimes I just give up trying to figure things out liek that

The weight was slightly towards the cab end of the bed so it did sag the front a bit too. BTW read that above as 2.5 HOURS.
