C4 Slipping in 1st

Hello,
I have an old F100 with a C4 gearbox. Its slipping badly in 1st gear under load. I have changed the oil and filter but it is still doing it. Does anybody know what the problem may be and how I can rectify it?
Any comments or help would be appreciated.

Have you ajusted the 1st gear bands? There should be a external ajustment on the trans.

does it slip all th etime, or only when cold?
