I have been to the other side of the mountain. While I am happy to say that it is not barren...It does have areas of darkness. In that darkness lurks...the evil ones.
The good news is, during my short journey I found a very open site with open discussions. While moderating is with earnest it is particularly saved for personal attacks. Mostly controlled by the relatively small membership. Within that group I even found a high level of integrity which was / is very refreshing.
In the darkness, a very closed society exists. Not a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I need not mention the name. I was able to initiate some independent thinking but, I don't believe they appreciated my efforts very much. Well, they deserved it. They aggravated me on my first introduction post.
What I have learned during my sabbatical is this: FTE is the elite of the Ford web sites. Specifically the 6.0 diesel forum. It is generally the best moderated site...especially when you consider it's size and scope. Rapidly approaching 300,000 members.
While some have carved out a niche membership (speed kings, etc.) FTE remains the best overall site for general to specific information.
Most importantly, it is the general membership at FTE that makes it #1. Specifically for me, the 6.0 forum. To that I say thank you.
Now, so that no one thinks I am getting mushy...I have to say that I remain strongly opposed to over moderating and I will continue my quest to challenge admin and mods when it appears that the controls are getting out of control. However, with that said, I also pledge to keep my mod challenges private unless an open discussion is prudent at the time. Nothing personal, it's just who I am.
So, when I took it upon myself to bid adiós, I was invited to return. I take this opportunity to accept that invitation.
Well it is definetly good to have u back b/c i have learned alot sitting, listening and reading all, well most of what you have wrote. Plus, I myself have been away and hardly post anything, but this hurricane season for us in MS has been well a little 2 much.
Wecome Back its good to see you on the boards again. I know that you have helped me with a few things and I look foreward to getting some help from you again. so Welcome Back
I was confident in the beginning it would end (re-begin?) this way.
I know exactly where you are coming from with your statements. I may not post in the other locations but I lurk...with the recent events I am glad I never became a poster. It will be more fun for me in the end, I am confident in that The other locations are particularly arrogant...while still fairly laden with integrity...obviously not as much as I think many had hoped
Anyways, they have there projects, and we have ours. Since over "there" it seems to be nothing more than a timeslip and dyno war, might as well have a little fun with them in the future...but we will save that for a later day
There is a great and glorious purpose in the march of the universes through space. We are all part of an immense plan, a gigantic enterprise, and it is the vastness of the undertaking that renders it impossible to see very much of it any one time and during any one life. The whole marvelous and universal mechanism moves on majestically through space to the music of the meter of the infinite thought...
I hope you'll waste no time in stirring the pot up a bit. It's been, well to put it bluntly, a bit dull around here lately. The place seems to have lost it's sense of humor. It's good to have you back . . .
