Max 15" tire size/width w/o altering???

I have 1991 XLT Ranger Supercab 4x4...need advice on maximum 15" tire size I can put on that won't need alterations to anything...wheels are standard 7" width...Anyone experimented or experienced ???

I'm positive a 30x9.50 will fit, I think a 31x10.50 will fit but i would have the tire shop test fit one before you commit to buying a set.

30x9.50 works best 31 will put more strain on transmission and axle shafts.
