Recall Questions

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>I just recently purchased a 04 250 with the p-stroke. My question is I hear everybody talking about recalls and reprograms the 05E15… I don’t think I have anything done to my truck as far as a recall Is there somewhere I should look to see if a need anything. I just hate to take my good running truck in and get a POS (Piece of Sh#@)back .

<o></o>

Thanks

This site has a link which puts you onto a recall info site, click the link and type in you VIN number. You can go to a ford dealer and ask for an Oasis report on your truck. This will tell you everything that has done to it.

The wiring recall and CAC tube recall on the 04 trucks are kinda important. Both problems will stop your truck dead if they happen. The sensor recall and reprogram is an iffy thing. Some trucks had trouble, some did not. Mine did not have this problem but the recall replaced these thing anyway. You probably cannot tell ford which ones you want done and not done it takes a day or so to do and they do them all. The recalls are active for a long time. As the new owner you should get notice of them in the mail.

MY 04 reciently had the recalls done to it. Not much change in performance, mileage the same, more or less, maby less throttle response but seems to shift at a lower speed so who knows. There is a thread which talks about this, it is a few days ago. read through it and decide.

Try this place for an OASIS. Just scroll down to the OASIS forum. An OASIS can tell you all the warranty work that was done, if any, as well as, if there are any active recalls for your truck.

Now the CAC (cold air charge, intercooler tube, call it what you want) problem won't leave you dead in the water like the wiring harness problem, but it will make one heck of a loud boom if it comes off and you will loose boost, so the truck will feel sluggish. It may also put a nice dent in your hood from the clamp flying. If you get a chance browse through the Tech Folder (READ FIRST sticky at the top of this forum) lots of good info. Congrats on the new truck.
