I'm having a problem with the rear window wiper. The unit works, but it lifts off the window in the middle of a pass. The wiper blade only contacts the window for 1/2 of the cycle, then lifts off the glass
I assume the unit needs to be indexed correctly. How do you accomplished that task? I've seen quite a few other Explorers or Expeditions with the same pattern on the rear window so it must be a common problem.
I had the same problem on my 98. I just bend the wiper arm in a little until it wipes the whole glass. The first time it happened I went to the dealership and the mechanic did the same thing. He told me that is what they do with all the vechicles that come in for that problem.
certainly is a big trouble when your ride caught up in a strong rain. best bet are said by above posts. changing wiper arms frequently is like throwing big bucks to a trash.
