hmmm....Something else to consider.....when they are converted to one way streets, traffic may not increase volume wise, but there is potential for an increase in speeders. For example, I want to get to my house in your subdivision. It used to be a one street shot. Now I have to go down one street and back up another to get to my house. Now the trip home has increased in distance and time. I can't do anything to decrease the distance, but I can reduce the travel time. How can I reduce the travel time, you ask?.......well, if I were to speed through the neighborhoods I can almost make up for the extra distance by speeding up and down those two streets. I'm not saying I would do it, but I would think many would.

I don't know if city's still use "Speed Bumps". They are too dangerous and too abrupt. My city now uses "Speed Humps". They are wider and very visibly marked. You have to slow down on these unless you have a Baja equiped vehicle to fly off of them with. You might want to try convincing your city council to test out a "Speed Hump" for a few weeks first?

Good luck.

In Mira Mesa California (suburb of San Diego) they put in speed bumps. What our English cousins refer to as "Sleeping Bobbies" !

I noticed that the locals hated them, and I knew it would contribute to the maintenance cost of every single vehicle in the area. I didn't give a damn -

I PURPOSELY ran those back streets at a minimum of forty in the blue mule with as much scrap metal in the back of my truck as I could find while I was still around there, knowing that every time I blew over one it would result in a massive crashing sound from the bed, and would hurt my truck not even a little bit.

- Late at night, preferably.

And many of those people owned "LOW-RIDERS"!

Served them right, I figured... If you allow Communism in, in the form of an HOA, you then have limited choices. Live with it or leave...

I was passing through, which they cannot ban. And I despise both socialism and communism.

(I know someone will think it. But by definition a 'Wolf' must then be an S.O.B. - so why worry over the point?)
