carb size

Have a friend that just bought a '69 Bronco 302 with a two barrel. He now has a 302 4 barrel Ford intake but wasn't sure of the type or size carb was used. Anybody know what the OEM setup was or what he should consider choosing. He will be keeping the engine stock.

The oem carb is some variant of an Autolite 4100. I'd keep the 2-barrel. Offroad you won't run the rpm to benefit from the 4. When you're wheeling and stuck and you punch the throttle and open the secondaries, that's when you loose control, bounce off an obstacle and fall on your side, and somebody tells you fuel injection is better for wheeling.
