I am having problems figuring out where to find my serial number on my engine.

I have a 99 Superduty with the common CPS problem. I have went all through this forum and broke the stalling problem down to have the CPS be the culprit.

 

Look at the valve covers. One of them will have a big yellow sticker with a bar code on it. In the center, in big numbers is your serial number. Below that will be the date the motor was made.
