New guy form AZ
Hello, I jsut bought a pretty nice work truck for an incredible price of $500 from a small lot in Mesa AZ. It is a 1980 Ford F100 Stepside, with a not-original 302, and a 4 speed that might be.
It is Primer red right now and some minor body work and paint is in the future. Looks like a fun truck and even though I am going to be using it for work I am still going to fix it up fairly nice. Starting with the engine and tranny.
It has a bad shutter when I go higher rpm's in any gears, but really noticable in fir's and second. Has pretty good power but is leaking oil from the oil pan and timing cover from what I can see. The carb is kinda nasty and I am supprized it is running as strong as it is. FLoat bowels leaking etc.
ALso aroung mid throttle application it has a ticking sound that I think has to do with the carb but not sure.
I will get you all more info and even a picre tomorrow when I get some more time to look at her.
I look forward to spending a bunch of time in here mulling over info and stats with the rest of you. I know your Ford knowledge will pail mine in comparison so I am your new student for the time being.

Things I know I need if anyone has ideas as to where to get them.
All of dash seems to be broken, only fuel gauge seems ot work.???
Complete Gasket set, new seat/seats, thinking baout ripping out carpet and rhino lining? Shift *** and stick? Steering colum and wheel. Windshield, wipers, Carburator, LSD rearend?
