Roof replacement

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Jun-02 AT 11:49 PM (EST)]I am new to the forum, but have been reading for some time now. I am looking at buying a 76 camper special standard cab and am worried about the roof. There seems to be alot of rust around the rain gutter on the roof seam that is all the way thru the outer roof panel. I would rather replace the roof and know I have stopped the rust instead of TRYING to cut out the rust and rebuild. What I am wondering is , is there a place to purchase a new roof or will I need to try and find one off a wreck? Either or....how complicated is the job and what am I looking at as far as money to purchase a roof and how serious a job is it to change?

Thanks
Jon

Roof replacement

Almost everyone in this message area has your same concern. Truth is the only way to stop rust is to replace the panel. Look for replacement panels for the affected area. Not sure on the drip rails. They're rotten on 98 % of these. Look for the replacement patch panels.
