Today was a great day. One shop in my town that I deliver to (carquest) had a 78 F-150 Custom sitting in the back, as it had been rejected upon inspection. It was in the process of being parted out, and the drivetrain was gone. Someone had made a "downpayment" on front clip, hood and doors, but the guy couldn't get in touch with him, so I scored a darn near perfect hood, 2 great doors and door panels, and an entire front fascia, all the sheet metal (including grill and fenderwells) ahead of the cab, for $125. the inner fenderwells still has everything bolted to it, as it would be in the engine compartment, with many brand new components. It has the 78/79 grill, but with the round headlights (my favorite) This will make my engine swap and bodywork a whole lot easier, as I can just take the entire front sheetmetal off my truck, swap engines, and then put the body on around it. Sorry if there is no question, I just had to share my great day with someone.
yeah, I've got the horn assembly, and the washer resevoir, but not the lid to it. if you'd like them, email me at Brian_Carver(No Email Addresses In Posts!) , and we'll work out what you need and how I can get them to you
Rock on, Ranger! I just took my batteries out to Kragen and spotted a nice '72-'77 4X4 sitting by a shop. I think when I go out to pick up the batteries tomorrow I'll stop and check it out. I'm sure the guy's not parting it out or even selling, but I'd like to see it up close. I'd like to get ahold of a horn assembly and windshield washer reservoir if you have one to spare now. Good luck with your truck.
