resistor coil?

Ive got a 68 F250 Ranger that has a 78 351M motor in it. I believe that the electrical system is older. It has a mechanical distributor and a yellow top coil.
The wiring harness on the truck is all 68 and the coil wire is red with a green stripe. My question is should I be running a resistor coil or is the red and green wire resistive?

Red and green wire is not resistive. It's straight 12V. You may need to add a resistor if you keep burning up points.
