No More Radiator Leaks!
Yesterday, my 82 E100 FINALLY has a brand spanking new OEM Radiator!
No more radiator leaks! No more overheating!
My husband was insistant he could fix the old one (he has done so with success with other vehicles in the past), so I let him try it his way. He soldered the holes and it would have worked..... but the old radiator was so rotten, it still kept leaking.
Now my way. A local autoparts store had an OEM 2 core in stock for $150 and bought a new thermostat for it as the van's was gone. Put in some antifreeze and distilled water to "christen" and give it a good chance. (....our well water is full of minerals and really didn't want to gum up the works right off.) The drove it to town and back as a test. About 13 miles round trip.
No over flow after stopping at the store. In the past, by the time I turned around and come back home....the temp gauge would be well over halfway
Not this time!
Now, I can start spending my money converting the inside!
