I have been tryin like heck, to figure out an no-spark problem on my 86' 460/DURASPARK II Ignition Mod. I get no spark during cranking but as I let off the switch, it sparks for an instant. Replaced the IC module, same trouble. Got the book out and followed the troubleshoting procedures, everything checks out ok.. Resistor, coil, Module ground, Dizzy ground...
Question? Does anyone know what Resistance reading I should have at the Stator/harness....? Checking the Orange to Purple I get Infinite Ohms. Orange or Purple to grd, I get Infinte Ohms. The book says more than 70k ohms is good, but should it be an open circuit??? Man I sure need to run my 460, I am jones-ing for some HP. Barca.....
The ignition switch or starter soleniod are bad and not suppling voltage to the ignition system when in the start position, and when you release the switch back to "on" then you have power. Get yourself a wiring diagram and trace it out.
Yeh Bear, I have power at my Ignition Module, at "start" and at "run". The problem seems so obvious because it appears just as you and I describe it. But what is also obvious is that I am STILL missing something --- *SPARK* (hehe). But I will keep trying, maybe the new module I bought is faulty...Like any other problem, we learn a lot along the way. I just wish I could learn a lot FASTER!

Sucess, or at least as I know it to be. The problem was with the pickup coil in the dizzy... Mine had an open. After pulling the dizzy and messing with it, the pickup coil (purple and orange wires)measured 650 ohms, and then promptly spazzed out, and is now open (infinite ohms) Will replace it I hope manana.....
