400 build time

I have looked at alot of differnt build on this forum, most of them are great build ideas, but here my question.
I want to use the new pistons from TMI (will be contact Tim soon) and CHI 3V heads, has any done a built with this.

I have been watching the stroker updates and have even talk with tim about one of this but I am concrened about it being a daily driver.

Any build ideas with the last tech stuff.

Thanks Lee

I have a 400 with Ohio flatops and CHI-3V heads. I built this long before Tim's pistons were available. While it is in a 'show car', I drive it to distant locations frequently. Usually the shows I take it to are about an hour away, but I have driven it to locations several hours away. The alloy heads are great. I have fewer worries about fuel grades than with the old 351C-4V heads that were on it previously.

The stroker kit contains upgrades on all the components, steel crank, H-beam rods, forged pistons. This is the ultimate 400 based motor.

The CHI-3V heads are great, but the CHI-2V heads are almost as good, and less of a problem to use on a 400 block. If it is a daily driver, I think that you should consider the CHI-2V heads.

What is your concern?

With it being a daily driver, will the stroker hold up?

With the CHI heads and 0 deck and under 10:1 will it run on pump gas?
I know the cam plays a large part of it.
But I am new to the 400 and just got lost with all the differtent type of built ideas.

The stroker should last as long as any other 400 motor.

Yes it will run on pump gas. The cam that you use should determine your compression ratio. I think that about 9.5:1 CR and something like an Comp Cams XE268, or a hydraulic roller cam with similar timing would make a great daily driver.

I have 10.3:1 CR, but a lot more cam in mine. I use 93 Octane, but I have mixed 89 with the 93 in the tank with no ill effect.
