using a remote starter

how do you plug one of those remote starter thing to turn the engine over while you're working on it. seem to remember it went on the relay but i can't find the thread to know for sure. also do i put the key to run or off position. i want to turn the engine over to find the timing marks.

i guess you could run a wire from + Battery to the small post on the starter relay. Leave the Key to RUN and make sure truck is parked.

Most remotes are probably the same. Red to the + battery. Black to the solinoid and blue to the coil. You don't need the key on, there should be a switch on the remote.

If it's a two wire remote starter switch, take one lead to the positive on the battery and the other to the " S " terminal on the solenoid and you don't need the key switch on. Just bump the trigger on the remote starter switch to turn the engine over.
